Shareholder Questions

Horne International's shareholders frequently contact the company with questions about the company's activities. This page provides answers to commonly asked questions and helps ensure that the answers are available to all interested shareholders. These answers may become outdated over time. We cannot promise to answer every question that is asked and encourage shareholders to review the company’s SEC filings and news releases.

Horne International recently announced that it had received a contract from the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), but you did not say how much it was worth. Can you provide an estimate of the revenues from this contract?

On June 11, 2007, Horne International announced that it had received a contract award from the Federal Aviation Administration in support of the FAA’s Occupational Safety and Health (OSH) Program. The contract is an “Indefinite Delivery, Indefinite Quantity,” or IDIQ, type contract. The contract does not specify how much work Horne International will receive; therefore, it is not possible for us to predict with any accuracy what our revenue stream will be. [6-19-07]

It has been months since we have seen announcements about new contract awards to Horne International. Can you provide us with information on which contracts you have received?

For the second half of 2006, Horne International did not announce any new contract awards. During this time period, our management was entirely focused on pursuing new opportunities. For your information, below is a chart that provides a cross-section of contracts that were awarded to four key business areas within Horne International since June 2006. Please keep in mind that this list does not represent each contract or task order that was awarded to Horne International. That list would be too long to include on this Web site. [3-20-07]

As a stockholder for the past 3 years, I have a question regarding the software unit that deals with the federal government. Are you CMMI certified, and if so what Capability Level are you?

CMMI (Capability Maturity Model Integration) is a process-improvement approach used by software, systems engineering, and other organizations to help ensure that they consistently deliver products in accordance with their customers’ expectations. Companies do not get CMMI certified. Rather, they get rated at a certain capability level by an appraiser authorized by the Software Engineering Institute. Attaining a CMMI rating for Horne International’s software group would be an important next step because it would help ensure that we have repeatable processes for ensuring consistent results. The advantages include greater efficiency, lower costs, and increased customer satisfaction. Horne International has a CMMI quality program in place, and we are working toward the appraisal process. We look forward to first completing ISO 9001:2000 certification and then leveraging that capability into a CMMI Level 3 rating. [2-22-07]

Why was the company name and stock symbol changed?

The Spectrum Holdings Corp. name changed to Horne International Inc. following shareholder approval on August 31, 2006, and the filing of a Certificate of Amendment with the Secretary of State of the State of Delaware. Spectrum Holdings Corp. consisted of one subsidiary, each with a separate identity. The company name was changed to reflect a unified brand and business, to eliminate confusion among customers, investors, employees and shareholders, and to allow us to go to market under one name. The stock symbol was changed in order to reflect the new company name. The new symbol became effective at the market open on September 12, 2006.
